The regular musical activities during this period consisted amongst others of the sunday-mass duties in the Vienna “Hofburg-Kapelle“ where the boys sing masses ranging from Palestrina to Anton Bruckner supported by an ensemble of the Vienna Philharmonia Orchestra. Other regular duties were at the Vienna Opera House if and when boy’s voices were needed and, of course, concerts at high ranking receptions and similar events. The international activities were of course the concert tours, lasting anything between one to three months and leading across the whole world.

In summer 1961 I took part in film shootings for a feature film about the Vienna Choir Boys, produced by the Walt Disney Productions. The original title of this film is “Almost Angels“ („Ein Gruß aus Wien“). Walt Disney and his wife were actually visiting Vienna on this occasion and we were welcoming him at the airport with a song.

Our Choir-conductor Gerhard Lang. He worked with the Choir Boys from 1954 till 1963. Then he moved to St.Pauls/Minnesota, where he was the conductor of St.Paul's Cathedral until 1968. Having returned back to Vienna he worked as a production manager for the ORF till 1991.
